Limits to check

• File uploads accept common document, spreadsheet, presentation, and text formats. Each file is capped at 512 MB; text and document files also have a 2 million-token cap, spreadsheets about 50 MB, and images 20 MB.
• Shared file storage is capped at 25 GB per end-user and 100 GB per organization across chats, Projects, and custom GPT knowledge.
• File upload rates and project allowances vary by plan, and OpenAI says it may lower rate limits during peak hours.
• OpenAI's plan-specific pages say ChatGPT Free includes limited file uploads and data analysis, while Go includes extended access to both. The file-upload FAQ caps Free at 3 uploads per day and says limits may be reduced at peak times. That FAQ's web, iOS, and Android availability paragraph still names only Plus, Pro, and Enterprise, so the paragraph conflicts with the plan-specific pages; Free and Go plan entitlement itself is documented.
• OpenAI says ChatGPT Work can create and edit documents, slide decks, spreadsheets, charts, PDFs, images, and other deliverables. It is available on desktop for all plans; web and mobile access requires Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, or Edu. OpenAI describes Free and Go desktop access as limited.
• When Library is available, ChatGPT saves conversation uploads there separately from chats. Deleting a chat does not delete its Library files; delete those files from Library too.
• ChatGPT Enterprise supports visual retrieval only for PDFs attached during a conversation, including a Project conversation or an interaction with a published GPT. PDFs stored as Project Files or GPT Knowledge use text-only retrieval even on Enterprise. Other plans and non-PDF documents also use text-only retrieval and discard embedded images.
• ChatGPT Images can create images from prompts and edit generated or uploaded images. OpenAI says it is available on every tier on web, iOS, and Android. The editor's selection highlights are not always precise, and edits may extend beyond the selected area.
• OpenAI's pricing page describes Free image generation as limited and slower, Go as offering more image creation, Plus as offering more complex and accurate image creation, and Pro as unlimited and faster subject to abuse guardrails. It does not publish a fixed image count for those plans.
• Under OpenAI's individual Terms of Use, users own output as between themselves and OpenAI to the extent permitted by law. OpenAI also says output may not be unique and users are responsible for evaluating it before use or sharing.
• For individual ChatGPT services, OpenAI may use chats and uploaded content to train models unless you opt out. ChatGPT Business and Enterprise inputs and outputs are not used for training by default.
• Deep Research can use enabled ChatGPT apps, including Gmail and Google Drive. Deep Research availability depends on the plan and country or territory; access to specific apps also depends on the plan and workspace configuration. OpenAI says data synced directly from connected Google apps is not used to train generalized models except when it is submitted as feedback, manually copied or uploaded into a conversation, or included in a ChatGPT response.
• ChatGPT Search may rewrite a prompt into targeted queries sent to third-party search providers. When Memory is enabled, relevant memories may inform those queries, and general location inferred from your IP address may be shared. OpenAI says it does not share the IP address itself or ChatGPT account information with those search providers.
• Paid prices and included features vary by plan.
• The GitHub app is read-only; editing and pushing repository code requires the separate Codex product.
