• Basic includes 300 transcription minutes per user each month, 30 minutes per conversation, three lifetime file imports, and the 25 most recent conversations.
• Pro includes 1,200 transcription minutes per user each month, 90 minutes per conversation, and 10 file imports per user each month.
• Business and Enterprise list unlimited meeting and in-app recording transcription, 6,000 imported-file minutes per user each month, four hours per conversation, and unlimited file imports.
• Otter's plan table caps Pro workspaces at five billed users and Business at 25; larger workspaces require Enterprise.
• Otter transcribes English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese; German and Simplified Chinese are beta. It normally transcribes one selected language per conversation. French can switch automatically to English when French is selected; no other mixed-language pair is supported.
• Users remain responsible for required recording notice and consent. Otter’s pre-meeting email and in-meeting chat are configurable notices. Its affirmative Teams permissions page requires the Otter for Outlook extension and what Otter calls a Microsoft Enterprise license; it appears only through the Otter-generated meeting link, not a direct Teams link.
• Otter Notetaker can automatically add shared slides or screens from Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams to the conversation. Users can manage the automatic-capture setting in Account Settings or turn it off during a live conversation. Enterprise admins can set and optionally lock the workspace default. Otter's public pages do not state whether automatic capture is enabled by default.
• Basic exports transcripts only as TXT. Paid plans add DOCX, PDF, and SRT; audio exports as MP3. Bulk export requires Business or Enterprise.
• Custom automatic retention is an Enterprise admin control configured through an Otter account manager. Admins can delete the full conversation or set separate retention periods for audio and video files and transcripts.
• Otter’s privacy policy says it may train its proprietary AI on de-identified audio recordings and transcriptions that may contain personal information. In Account Settings → Meetings, users can choose whether Otter and its third-party providers may access conversations for training and product improvement; “Don’t allow sharing” revokes access to past conversations for training and prevents future conversations from being used for training. Otter says Enterprise workspaces are opted out of AI model training by default: recordings, transcripts, and notes are not used to improve its global models or third-party LLMs, and opting in is managed through an Otter account manager. Confirm Business service-agreement terms separately.
